Deborah Walker has a Bachelors in Arts from the University of Memphis with a minor in Theater. Also, Ms. walker received a Masters in Education/Psychology, and an Ed.S in Leadership. She is currently an English Language Arts (ELA) Teacher at Chimneyrock Elementary, and a Teaching Artist with the Tennessee Arts Commission.

In 2011, Ms. Walker obtained a Certification in Dance and created Diné Dancers and Acting Studio. From 2013–2019, the dance team competed and won in numerous states which led to invitations to the nationals in Orlando, Florida. Adding to their repertoire, the dance team has performed at two Memphis Grizzlies Basketball Games, and for former Mayors, Willie Herrenton and A.C. Wharton.

Ms. Walker and her dancers are in high demand in the month of February with their original Black History programs: From Africa to America, Hip-Hop in Motion, and The Civil Rights Movement. She became Chimneyrock Elementary's Dance Coach in 2023, performing at the Town Hall Meeting for District 5 School Board Members and for Superintendent Marie Feagins of Memphis Shelby County Schools in April of 2024.

Ms. Walker has choreographed routines for the Historical Daisy Theater on Beale Street, and the Canon Center for Performing Arts in Downtown Memphis. During her career, Ms. Walker has directed and choreographed the following musicals: 101 Dalmatians, Jungle Book, Aladdin, High School Musical, Seussical The Musical, Annie, Lion King, Mulan, The Wizard of Oz, Shrek Jr., and Sounds of Memphis on Beale. Moreover, she has written and performed two original plays of her own.

Ms. Walker is also the 2026 Scholarship Recipient for the Tennessee Arts Academy Theatre and Dance Program.
